Rev. Alene E. Styles-Glover is an ordained Elder and serves as Pastor of Miller Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in University Park, IL. A native of Louisville, Ky her pastoral ministry began in November 2006. Pastor Glover is a compassionate servant leader with strong commitment to the ministry of pastoral care and spiritual direction.
Pastor Glover's focus and drive to "work the gifts" continues to impact and engage multiple families and communities across the country.
Pastor Glover loves God and has a heart for people. She is a wonderfully gifted preacher; a prepared and effective teacher who passionately believes Christian Education is critical to the viability and relevancy of the church in diverse communities. According to Pastor Glover, teaching within the community of faith provides opportunities to introduce, discover, develop, transform and engage the church, families and communities in multiple encounters with the gospel. Pastor Glover’s mission is to unashamedly and unapologetically preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ; and to figuratively and literally make the spirit of the text dance!
Pastor Glover currently serves as Conference Coordinator for Women In Ministry and is Chair of the Class on Admissions, Board of Ministerial Training, Chicago Annual Conference. Pastor Glover has served as Dean of Corporate Prayer, Fourth Episcopal District, International Women’s Prayer Convocation, Toronto, Canada; Ministry Outreach Lead for the 2013 World of Women Praying Convocation, Chicago, IL and served in missions in South Africa and Southern India.
Pastor Glover earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Bellarmine University, Louisville, KY, a Master of Divinity degree from The Northern Theological Seminary, Lombard, IL and is also a Doctoral Candidate in Preaching and Leadership. She is married to Michael Alexander Glover; they are the proud parents of two adult children.
